Project 1: FUNCTIONS
In this project, my group members and I grasped a better understanding of 6 different functions. I researched the ceiling and floor functions. I defined each function, found a real life data set, and graphed this data set to help give a better understanding of how these functions relate to our everyday lives. I also created the bibliography for the page.
Project 2: TRIGONOMETRIC PARALLAX
This project involved researching Trigonometric Parallax and using the method to determine the distance between earth and specific stars. As researcher, I gathered the information needed to determine such distances and I also created the bibliography page.
Project 3: PLANETS
With this project, my partner and I determined the rotational speed, radius, and other information of the planets and used it to determine the speed of a city relative to the equator. In order to save time, we made use of excel and developed formulas that calculated our data for us.
Project 4: NCTM STANDARDS
This project tied together the previous three projects with the NCTM Standards for mathematics. The NCTM is a committee desinged to create a standard for all teachers. It sets requirements on certain mathematics topics that must be covered. We were required to find the standards online and use two to relate to each project.
